2024, The Year of the Altbier

We’re excited to announce that Double Clutch Brewery has earned national recognition for its Altbier, taking home the silver medal at the 2024 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in Denver, Colorado. This prestigious event, widely regarded as the premier beer competition in the U.S., showcases the finest in craft brewing, with over 9,000 entries from more than 2,000 breweries across the country.

Our silver medal win in the German-style Altbier category marks a huge achievement for us here at Double Clutch Brewery. The Altbier, a classic German-style amber ale, was expertly crafted by our Brewmaster, Scott Frank, who brought his passion for traditional brewing techniques to every step of the process. Reflecting the time-honored brewing methods of Düsseldorf, Germany, the Altbier balances rich malt complexity with a crisp, clean finish.

“It’s the year of the Altbier,” says Scott Frank. “This has always been one of my favorite styles to brew, and it’s such an honor to bring this medal back to Evanston. We can’t wait to keep sharing our love for great beer with our community.”
