Double Clutch Brewing Company Celebrates 5 Years on WGN Spotlight Chicago

Vandalay Brands' Double Clutch Brewing Company is celebrating five years in Evanston! In honor of the milestone, Head Brewer Scott Frank and Executive Chef Eryck Contreras appeared on WGN's Spotlight Chicago to showcase the award-winning beers, signature menu items and unique concept that have made Double Clutch a North Shore favorite since 2021.

Five Years of Craft Beer, Food and Fast Cars

Since opening in 2021, Double Clutch Brewing Company has established itself as a one-of-a-kind destination in Evanston, combining traditional German-inspired brewing, elevated pub fare and a passion for classic automobiles.

During their visit to WGN's Spotlight Chicago, Scott Frank and Chef Eryck Contreras shared a look inside the concept and highlighted the people, products and craftsmanship behind five successful years.

Showcasing Award-Winning Craft Beer

Head Brewer Scott Frank discussed the brewery's commitment to traditional German brewing techniques and showcased several of Double Clutch's signature beers, including its Altbier, Helles Lager and Helles Rauchbier Lager.

Under Scott's leadership, Double Clutch has earned recognition on the national and international stage, including medals at the Great American Beer Festival and World Beer Cup.

The segment also featured Double Clutch's special fifth anniversary beer, brewed to commemorate the milestone and kick off a weekend of celebrations.

A Signature Burger Takes the Spotlight

Executive Chef Eryck Contreras brought a taste of Double Clutch to the WGN studio with a preparation of the restaurant's signature Double Clutch Burger.

A menu staple since the brewery opened in 2021, the burger features two 4-ounce Schweid & Sons Heritage Angus beef patties, jalapeño bier cheese, bier-braised onions, arugula, bacon and pickles on a toasted brioche bun.

The dish reflects Double Clutch's culinary approach, incorporating beer-inspired ingredients and German influences into familiar American favorites. Together, the kitchen and brewery create a dining experience that goes beyond the traditional brewpub.

Celebrating Five Years in the Fast Lane

Double Clutch's fifth anniversary marks an exciting milestone for Vandalay Brands and the entire team behind the Evanston brewery.

To celebrate, Double Clutch is hosting a three-day anniversary weekend featuring a special beer release, live music, a founders toast recognizing the people behind the concept, racing simulator and Halloween party.

The celebration recognizes not only five years of business but also the dedication of Double Clutch's founders, leadership team, employees and the Evanston community that has supported the brewery since opening day.
